Short answer: buy Philips if a 2-year warranty and a big service network matter most to you. The Philips NA120 at about ₹4,655 is the safest pick for most homes. Buy Inalsa if you want more features for less money. The Inalsa Tasty Fry DW5.5 gives you 5.5 litres, a viewing window and 8 digital presets for about ₹4,739, but with a 1-year warranty.
Both brands sell well on Amazon.in. Philips' NA120 alone showed “20K+ bought in past month” and the #1 spot in air fryers on the day we checked. Inalsa competes on price: its digital models cost roughly what Philips charges for a basic dial model. Below we compare six current models side by side.

A note on the NA120 specs
Philips' own pages disagree slightly: the technical table says 4.1 L and 1,501 W, while the product title and Amazon say 4.2 L and 1,500 W. The timer is listed as up to 60 minutes in the spec table but 30 minutes in the FAQ. None of this changes everyday use, but we prefer to tell you.
Features and cooking: what actually differs
Dials vs presets. The two cheaper Philips models use plain time and temperature dials. That is easy for elders and there is no screen to fail. Every Inalsa here has a touch panel with 8 presets, which helps beginners who do not know the right time and temperature for fries, chicken or fish. Philips only adds a touchscreen on the NA231 at ₹9,399.
Capacity for your family. 3.5 L suits one or two people. 4 to 4.5 L suits a couple or small family making snacks. For a family of four cooking a main dish, look at 5.5 to 6.2 L. One NA130 buyer noted the basket held less chicken than they expected from the 6.2 L label, so think in terms of a single layer of food, not litres. Our air fryer buying guide explains sizing in more detail.
Watching your food. A window lets you check browning without pulling the basket. You get it on the Inalsa DW5.5 for ₹4,739 or the Philips NA231 for ₹9,399.
Oil and energy claims. Both brands advertise less fat and lower energy use than ovens or deep frying. These are manufacturer claims, not independent tests. For real numbers on electricity, see our air fryer vs oven running-cost guide.
Reliability: what buyers report
These themes come from Amazon.in review summaries and individual reviews on 3 November 2026. They are buyer reports, not failure rates.
| Model | Buyers praise | Buyers complain about |
|---|---|---|
| Philips NA120 | Even, crispy cooking, easy cleaning, little oil | Timer knob accuracy; some reports of fan or heating-coil failure |
| Philips NA130 | Simple dials, crisp results, easy cleaning | Usable load smaller than expected; some fan or reliability reports |
| Philips NA231 | Easy touch controls, window, roomy basket | Panel icons fading; occasional dead-on-arrival units |
| Inalsa Tasty Fry Digital | Easy presets, crispy results, value | Display issues, some units stopping, coating flaking or odour reports |
| Inalsa Tasty Fry DW5.5 | Easy to use and clean, value | Units stopping, display or light problems, mixed after-sales experiences |
| Inalsa Nutri Fry 3.5 | Compact, simple for small homes | Some failures, body scratches, separator paint wearing |
In short, both brands have some failure reports. Where Philips pulls ahead is what happens next: a 2-year warranty and a large service network make a fault less painful. Run the fryer empty for 10 minutes on day one (most manuals recommend this to burn off factory smell) and check every function inside the return window.
Warranty and service
- Philips: 2-year warranty on all three models (official pages and Amazon). Philips' air fryer page also claims a 2-year comprehensive warranty, home service and 500+ service centres across India. These are company claims and local coverage can vary.
- Inalsa: Amazon lists 1 year for all three models; the official Tasty Fry Digital page confirms 1 year, while the Nutri Fry 3.5 page does not state a warranty. Support: 9773982065, customercare@inalsa.co.in. Inalsa says it was founded in 1967 and is part of Spain's Taurus Group.
- Made in: Philips' brand page says “Proudly made in India”, but the model pages for the NA120, NA130 and NA231 state China. Origin for the Inalsa models was not confirmed.

- ✓Test it in the return window: timer, fan, heating and display.
Frequently asked questions
Is Philips better than Inalsa for air fryers?
Philips is better on warranty (2 years vs 1) and claimed service coverage. Inalsa is better on features per rupee. Cooking results get similar praise for both in Amazon reviews.
Which Philips air fryer is best for a family of four?
The NA130 (6.2 L, 1700 W, dials) at about ₹6,499 is the value choice. Choose the NA231 if you want a touchscreen and window.
Is the Inalsa air fryer good quality?
Ratings are solid (4.2 to 4.3 out of 5), and buyers like the presets and price. Complaints focus on units stopping and after-sales support, so buy from a seller with easy returns and keep your invoice.
Can I use an air fryer for Indian snacks?
Yes. Samosas, pakoras, tikkas and cutlets work well with a light brush of oil. Try our air fryer recipes for beginners and avoid these common air fryer mistakes.
How do I keep an air fryer basket non-stick for longer?
Use silicone or wooden tools, avoid metal scrubbers and clean after each use. Our air fryer cleaning guide covers the details.
