Updated: 3 November 2026. Prices and ratings below were checked on Amazon.in on that date.
Short answer: pick Morphy Richards if you want a bigger OTG with more features. The 29RCAD Digital gives you 29 litres, 13 presets and a built-in air-fry mode for about ₹8,499. Pick Bajaj if you want a simple, low-cost oven for a small household. The 16-litre Bajaj 1603 was ₹4,499 with more than 8,000 Amazon ratings, far more than any Morphy Richards model we checked.
One twist many buyers miss: since 16 March 2026, Bajaj Electricals owns the Morphy Richards brand in India (and in Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, the Maldives and Sri Lanka), according to its stock-exchange filing. So this is less a fight between two rival companies and more a choice between a feature-rich range and a basic budget range. Here is how the two compare model by model.

Model numbers can be confusing
Amazon lists the 29RCAD as “29RCAD Digi” with model no. 510081 but part no. 510057, and sells the 30-litre oven as “30RC LuxeChef” while the official page calls it “30RCSS Luxe”. The Bajaj 1603 appears as “1603T” on Amazon and “1603L” on the official site. Check the exact model number with the seller before you pay.
Features and cooking: what actually differs
Capacity is the biggest real difference. Bajaj tops out at 20 litres in this comparison, which suits one to three people, toast, small cakes and reheating. Morphy Richards starts at 29 to 30 litres, enough for a full family pizza or a larger cake tin, and goes all the way to 60 litres. As a rough guide, measure your largest baking tray before choosing.
Presets versus knobs. Only the Morphy Richards 29RCAD has a digital panel, with 13 presets plus air-fry and dehydrate functions. If you are new to baking, presets take some guesswork out. Everything else here uses simple knobs and a mechanical timer, which some people prefer because there is less to go wrong.
Air frying in an OTG. The official Morphy Richards pages list an air-fryer basket in the box for all three models. That is handy if you do not want a separate air fryer, though a dedicated basket air fryer is usually quicker for small portions. See our air fryer vs oven running-cost guide for the electricity side.
Power and wiring. A 2000 W oven draws roughly 8.7 amps at 230 volts, which is more than a standard 6 A socket is rated for. Plan on a 16 A power socket for the 29RCAD and 60 RCSS. The 1200 W Bajaj 1603 is the least demanding.

Reliability: what buyers report
We read the Amazon.in review summaries and recent reviews for every model. These are buyer reports, not measured failure rates, and Amazon notes its review summaries are AI-generated. Still, patterns are useful.
| Model | Buyers praise | Buyers complain about |
|---|---|---|
| MR 29RCAD Digital | Feature set, presets, air-fry mode, value | Durability, function-knob problems, noise, missing accessories; some reports of rust, dents and tray fit |
| MR 30RC LuxeChef | Looks, build, even heating for baking and grilling | Mixed heating and reliability; reports of loose parts, and a few of front glass breaking or internal bars melting |
| MR 60 RCSS | Mirror-finish look, ease of use, baking capacity | Temperature fluctuation or overheating, dents and scratches on arrival, some units stopping |
| Bajaj 1603 16L | Price, ease of use, compact size, good for beginners | Lower heating element complaints, hinge or transit damage, confusion over whether convection/rotisserie is included |
| Bajaj 2000 TM 20L | Budget-friendly, satisfactory everyday use | Weak or uneven heating, timer behaviour, missing rotisserie parts |
Our takeaway: no brand is clearly more reliable. Unbox and test every function within the return window, and check that all listed accessories are in the box, since missing parts come up for both brands.
Warranty, service and where they are made
- Warranty: the official product pages for all five models state a 2-year product warranty. One conflict: Flipkart's listing for the 30RCSS Luxe (SKU 510051) says one year. Confirm the warranty printed on your invoice.
- Made in: the official Morphy Richards pages for these three models state China as country of origin. Both Bajaj models are made in Sonipat, Haryana, according to their official pages. This varies by model, so do not assume it for the whole range.
- Support: Bajaj Electricals' consumer care lists 022-4128 0000 (9 am to 9 pm), consumercare@bajajelectricals.com and WhatsApp 7039920000. The Morphy Richards product pages now sit on bajajelectricals.com. We could not verify a current service-centre count.
- Company history: Morphy Richards was founded in the UK in 1936. Bajaj Electricals was set up in 1938 by Jamnalal Bajaj.

Before you order: checklist
- ✓Match the exact model number on the listing (510081 vs 510057 for the 29RCAD; 1603T vs 1603L for Bajaj).
- ✓Check the box contents against the official accessory list (tray, grill, rotisserie rod and forks, crumb tray, tongs).
- ✓Confirm a 2-year warranty on the invoice, not just the listing.
- ✓Measure your counter space and leave room around the oven for ventilation.
- ✓Use a 16 A socket for 1600 to 2000 W models.
- ✓Test every mode, the timer and the light within the return window.
Frequently asked questions
Is Morphy Richards owned by Bajaj now?
In India and five nearby countries, yes. Bajaj Electricals acquired the Morphy Richards trademarks, goodwill and brand rights for India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, the Maldives and Sri Lanka, effective 16 March 2026. It is a brand deal for those territories, not a takeover of the global company.
Which is better for baking cakes, Morphy Richards or Bajaj?
For regular baking, a 29 to 30 litre Morphy Richards gives you room for bigger tins and more even airflow with convection. For an occasional small cake, the Bajaj 1603 is enough and costs about half as much.
Can a Morphy Richards OTG replace an air fryer?
Partly. The 29RCAD has a dedicated air-fry mode and all three models list an air-fryer basket. A basket air fryer is still faster for small snack portions. Our air fryer buying guide can help if you want both.
Does the Bajaj 1603 have convection and rotisserie?
The Amazon listing we checked says it does, but the official Bajaj page does not confirm those two features, and some buyers say their unit did not match. Ask the seller to confirm before buying if you need them.
What warranty do these OTGs get?
Two years, according to the official product pages for all five models. Keep your invoice and register the product with the seller or brand.
